Nozipho Tshabalala is a globally recognised conversation strategist and LRMG Non-Executive Director, passionate about driving transformative dialogue and meaningful change across Africa.
Nozipho Tshabalala

Nozipho Tshabalala is a conversation strategist moderating global conversations that are designed to have measurable outcomes. She is in demand for her unique and insightful ability to facilitate difficult conversations with courage, depth and breadth. As an internationally acclaimed conference moderator and Human Capital Advocate for The World Bank and Global Citizen, she has successfully moderated conversations for global and African institutions including, leading listed and unlisted multinational corporations, business schools, and civil society organisations that seek to leverage conversations for change.

Nozipho is also an award-winning financial markets broadcaster lifting the African business story through the lens of leadership, performance, the political economy, development finance, gender mainstreaming, and youth development.

Nozipho is an executive director at LRMG, supporting the LRMG transformation journey, a faculty member for Duke Corporate Education in Africa, a fellow of the Gordon Institute for Business Science’s Centre for African Management and Markets (CAMM), a Tutu fellow, and in 2019 was named one of 2019 100 Most Influential Young Africans.

Tomi has years of experience and a proven track record of Private Investments, Listed Investments, and Real Estate in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. He has concluded over R75 billion of corporate and investment transactions.

Tomi’s expertise spans mergers and acquisitions, private equity advisory, company restructurings, listings, BBEE transactions and capital raising across numerous sectors. As a co-founder, his invaluable experience has been a cornerstone in shaping Summit investment strategies.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tomi is also a fellow of Archbishop Desmond Tutu Leadership Institute and was recognised as an ABSIP Game Changer in the Financial Sector in 2013.

Mpho Makwana is a highly experienced South African board chair and former CEO, with leadership roles spanning banking, steel, industrials, forestry, and development finance. He serves as a trusted counsellor to world-class leaders, helping them deliver sustainable impact and leave lasting legacies.

Mpho has held senior executive positions and chaired boards including ArcelorMittal South Africa and Platinum Group Metals. He is the founder and chairman of Epitome Investments and brings deep expertise in corporate strategy, ESG, governance, organisational development, HR, scenario planning, and corporate communications.

Throughout his career, Mpho has been committed to shaping high-performing organisations and fostering inclusive leadership practices that drive meaningful change in South Africa and across the continent.

Nthabiseng Thema is an investment professional with two decades of experience in private equity, venture capital and consulting, dedicated to advancing sustainable growth for emerging and high-potential businesses across Africa.
Nthabiseng Thema

Nthabiseng Thema is a seasoned senior investment professional with two decades of experience in Private Equity and Venture Capital. She has been pivotal in fostering growth and innovation across various sectors through identifying, evaluating, and performing due diligence on potential investments and working with management teams to grow their companies and execute agreed strategic growth initiatives.

Until recently, Nthabiseng served as a Director in the Investment Team at Sango Capital, a private equity vehicle that invests in private companies and mid-cap and VC funds across Africa. In this role, she was instrumental in investing in over 25 funds and 15 direct investments across North, West, East, and Southern Africa since joining the firm in 2015. Her role involved deal sourcing, deal analysis, due diligence, deal execution, legal review and negotiations, client engagement/ management, portfolio monitoring, and value add.

Before her tenure at Sango Capital, she spent a decade in management consulting and investment banking, working at industry stalwarts McKinsey & Company, HSBC, and Morgan Stanley.

Nthabiseng is a qualified chartered accountant registered in South Africa and a CFA charter holder. She holds a postgraduate diploma in accounting and a bachelor of accounting degree from the University of Natal in South Africa.
