Employee Experience Strategy

Great customer experiences start with people who can deliver them.

Capable people do their best work when the experience around them supports them. A strong employee experience connects the moments that matter, makes work easier to navigate, and creates the conditions for people to perform.

What happens on the inside of an organisation is felt on the outside by customers.

Our clients that trust in us

What's getting in the way of great work?

Good people do their best work when the experience around them enables them to. The key is to uncover where friction is getting in the way, identify the moments that matter most, and focus improvement where it will make the greatest difference.

See the experience through your people's eyes

Understand what people need, value and experience, and where the employee journey is creating unnecessary friction.

Find the moments that matter

Identify the moments and interactions that have the greatest impact on how people work, connect and contribute.

Make it easier to do great work

Turn insight into practical improvements that help people navigate, contribute and perform with greater confidence.

Any of these feel too close for comfort?

EX MATURITY ASSESSMENT

Your best people shouldn’t have to be brilliant at navigating bad work.

Let's make the experience around them work better.

Developted through Torque’s Employee Experience practice, now part of LRMG.

Employee Experience Value Chain

People need an employee experience that helps them understand what matters, adapt quickly and perform. Your people in the room, our facilitator, and a decision by the end of it. No proposal, no discovery phase, no ninety day diagnostic. If we cannot move it in a day, you will at least know why it hasn’t moved in a year.

We hire capable people, then make them navigate clunky systems, unclear processes and organisational handovers.

And somehow we’re surprised when performance gets harder.

Sally Acton, Chief Experience and Innovation Officer, LRMG SA

Where does the friction usually hide?

What happens inside shows up outside. Your customers feel the systems, support and leadership your people experience every day. Strengthen the EX behind the work, so your people can bring more of their capability, energy and ambition to every interaction.

Employee Experience Strategy and Consulting

Set a clear, evidence-led direction for Employee Experience

Set one clear direction for EX. Use employee insight and business priorities to decide what needs attention first, where EX effort could make the greatest difference and what progress should look like.

Best times to use:

  • Leaders need evidence to prioritise EX investment and build a credible business case
  • Employee insight is not yet influencing business priorities or workplace decisions
  • An existing EX strategy needs fresh direction or is not producing visible progress
  • You need one EX direction that can adapt across countries, operating contexts, functions and workforce groups

Design clearer, more consistent employee experiences

Design the moments when people join, work, grow and perform so they support what people need to do and how you want them to feel. Shape communication, manager support, systems, tools and workplace touchpoints around an experience that is easier to access, navigate and use.

Best times to use:

  • You want a more consistent EX across onboarding, performance, recognition or growth
  • A new platform, system, tool or way of working needs to feel easier to access, understand and use
  • Employees and managers need clearer communication, tools or support at a specific moment
  • Different roles, locations or workforce groups need employee experiences designed around their realities
Employee Experience Design

Make employee priorities stick through learning, participation and recognition

Give a specific EX or behaviour priority the support to stick. Targeted learning, relevant content, prompts, gamified experiences and recognition make expectations clearer, encourage useful habits and keep participation and progress visible.

Best times to use:

  • A culture, behaviour or workplace priority needs to be understood and applied
  • An onboarding, change or employee initiative needs reinforcement after launch
  • You want to encourage participation through relevant content, challenges, prompts or gamified activities
  • Recognition and rewards need to make valued behaviour and contribution more visible
EX Activation, Learning, Gamification and Recognition

Map the moments that shape the employee experience

See a priority employee journey from end to end and compare the experience you intend with what people actually encounter. Journey mapping reveals the moments that strengthen or weaken connection, trust and meaning, and where your employer promise is being reinforced or lost.

Best times to use:

  • You need one view of the significant touchpoints and teams shaping a priority employee journey
  • Leaders need to understand what different workforce groups experience at key moments
  • You want to identify experiences worth protecting and gaps that weaken connection, trust or meaning
  • You need a future-state employee journey and toolkit to guide improvement
Employee Journey Mapping

Make communication clearer and employee voice count

Make communication easier to access, understand and act on, and make listening worth employees’ time. Analyse and align channels, tools, manager communication and feedback routes with different workforce needs so messages reach people, conversations improve and insight leads to visible action.

Best times to use:

  • Employees need to understand what is changing, why it matters and what they need to do
  • Listening and communication need to work across languages, locations, digital access and frontline environments
  • Employee voice needs to influence communication decisions and visible action
  • You need clearer audience insight, content planning or communication tools to support adoption or change
  • Communication channels, platforms or tools need to be assessed and optimised for reach, access and employee experience

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

How do we know if our organisation needs an employee experience strategy?

An employee experience strategy may be needed when people initiatives are growing in separate parts, employee feedback is not leading to visible action or different teams own parts of the experience without alignment to one shared direction. LRMG helps you see what should be protected, changed or stopped.

Employee engagement reflects how connected, committed and motivated people feel. Employee experience strategy addresses the systems, communication, leadership, processes and workplace moments shaping those feelings. Engagement data may show where concern exists; EX strategy helps leaders understand why and improve the conditions affecting readiness and performance.
Connect employee feedback with business priorities, decide which issues deserve attention and give each action a clear owner. Employees also need to know what was heard, what will change and what cannot change yet. Listening becomes credible when people can see the follow-through.
Start with the workforce group, location or employee journey where the gap is having the greatest effect. Not every experience needs to be standardised. LRMG helps you decide what should remain consistent and where communication, access, manager support or journey design should adapt.
Start with the experience and outcome you want to improve. Useful measures may include access, adoption, process friction, manager consistency, employee understanding, behaviour and differences between workforce groups. The measures should guide decisions and show whether the experience is improving.
An employee experience strategy connects business priorities with employee insight and the moments shaping how people join, work, grow and perform. Depending on the need, it may cover employee journeys, experience design, communication, Voice of Employee, leadership alignment and measures that show whether the experience is improving.

Take the assessment and start building an experience your people will love.
